What according to you is real organizational agility?
Real organizational agility is a possibility of an organization to change the direction of its business very fast with nearly no costs.
Why do so many organizations fail in their Agile transformation journey?
I think so many organizations fail in their Agile transformation journey because they are not ready to break the status quo. Especially when we talk about middle- and top-level managers who do not want to lose their power and don’t want to change their mindset.
What are the unique challenges in large-scale agile transformation? How can we overcome them?
It is difficult to influence behavior in a large-scale environment. People tend to slip mindlessly into given formal roles, and official organizational design is the boss in large-scale. It is nearly impossible to help big organizations to become Agile without eliminating old organizational structure officially.
What can Business leaders do to foster Agility in their Organizations?
First of all Business leaders should change themselves, have to become Agile. The fish rots from the head, you know. Second, they should be very persistent with the idea of an Agile transformation, And third, Business leaders should learn how to be patience – it takes time for people to change.
What are the key takeaways from your talk “Why your company will most probably not become Agile”?
One of the key ideas from my talk is that there are no wrong people, but instead there are bad organizational designs that make people work badly. If we design our organizations systemically in a way that they enable the full potential of us as human beings (not just cogs inside the factory) and foster collaboration we will get outstanding results.
